In addition to being known for having beautiful rows of beaches, Bali also has soothing green farmland. Agriculture in Bali is not merely to produce basic food, but there are also those that are environmentally friendly. Yes, organic farming is good for environmental life and also has a good business future, and can be an opportunity to increase the farmers' welfare.

You can find this organic farming concept in Subak Mambal, Mambal Village, Abiansemal District, Badung. Since 2012, they have developed healthy and environmentally friendly or organic agriculture programs. This development and empowerment activity took place in Mambal Subak which was divided into five munduk, namely Munduk Kedampal, Bedugul, Cungkub, Batuangsut, and Semana. 

Initially, this program was running because the organic matter content and soil fertility continued to decrease. In addition, pest and disease attacks in several areas of Bali, especially in Mambal Village, were increased from time to time. For this reason, through this program, farmers are directed to reduce dependence on using chemical fertilizers and pesticides. 

Specifically, this program has two missions. The first is to make the Mambal Organic Mini Laboratory function as a learning tool for farmers. So, they can participate in developing healthy agriculture in Abiansemal District, Badung Regency. In addition, the second mission is to build a healthy agricultural product market network in Badung Regency. 

Activities at the Mini Laboratory include the development of various types of biological agents, in order to eliminate pests and plant diseases. Secondly, train and practice the manufacture of organic fertilizers and pesticides. They also developed the Internal Control System (ICS) training, entrepreneurship training, and market development of organic products. These activities are carried out regularly every month at Balai Subak Mambal as well as exhibitions and Agricultural Culture Festivals. These programs are carried out together with Distanbunhut Badung. 

In the program that has been running so far, it have made 290 Biopori Absorption Holes (LRB). The yard planting program with 40 families was also carried out to manage and utilize organic waste. Not only that, but there is also a development program for 7 units of Biogas to process livestock waste into environmentally friendly gas. Great, right!
