Pura Pusering Jagat
The name Pura Pusering Jagat has the meaning of the center of the world. Because this is one of the heavenly celestial temples which is an important place to maintain the spiritual balance of Bali. Because, if it’s examined etymologically in Hinduism, the heavenly temple is the stana or place where Lord Shiva lives. It has the same level of importance as the Lempuyang Luhur Temple in Karangasem, it's no wonder that this temple is very sanctified by Balinese Hindus.
This temple is also a place of worship of Batara Amangkurat as a guiding god for the authorities who hold positions in managing people's lives. During their time as leaders, they are expected to always have a religious spirit. So that they can do good and not be arbitrary to their people.
There are several pelinggih which you can find there. The most important pelinggih in this temple is Pelinggih Ratu Pusering Jagat. There is also the Pelinggih Gedong Purusa which is marked by the Purusa symbol. It is symbolized in the form of male genital and Pradana which is symbolized in the form of female genital. Purusa is a soul seed while Pradana is a material seed. It was through Purusa and Pradana that God created the universe so that life would be harmonious and prosperous.
Beside Pelinggih Gedong Purusa, there is also Pelinggih Ratu Sidhakarya. This Pelinggih functioned as a means to worship God so that the people would improve their work ethic so that success in their work was achieved. And finally, there is also the Palinggih Catur Muka, as a place of worship of the God Catur Loka Pala who became the protector of the world from the four cardinal directions, namely for the worship of the god Brahma, Vishnu, Maha Dewa, and Iswara.
