In Teletubbies, the famous television show for children, there are four main characters named Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Lala, and Poo. They all live in Teletubbies Hill. Apparently, the hill not only can be seen from TV, but you can go there in real life! In Nusa Penida, there’s a hill called Teletubbies. Yeah, the name came from the tourists who visit there, because it’s really the same with Teletubbies Hill in the Teletubbies world!

Nusa Penida is indeed remarkable, which all the place there have their own uniqueness. And this time, let’s talk about Teletubbies Hill. The hill is formed from limestone, which is covered by a thin ground overgrown with green grass. Can you imagine the natural beauty of this hill? If you want to visit the place, be sure to come in the morning. It’s the very suitable time to visit Teletubbies Hill. Since in the noon, the weather will be very hot. 

From above the hill, the scenery of resident’s house will be clearly seen. The hill used to be called Gamal Hill, because there are many people who plant gamal (a plant to feed animals) on this hill. Everyday, many tourists come to the place for trekking to Suehan Beach. It’s a good place to hike since the air is very fresh, and you can escape from your daily routine. You can easily do a deep exploration only by following the pathway around the hill. Walking around the hill, sense the natural wonder, and contemplate the expanse of nature. Because of its natural beauty, Teletubbies Hill is also popular as the prewedding photoshoot location. 

If you want to visit the Teletubbies Hill, you can come to Anta Banjar, Tanglad Village, Nusa Penida Subdistrict. It’s located right on the border of Dusun Julingan with Sedehing Vilalge. To go there, you must first go to Nusa Penida island which can be reached by crossing Badung strait with a speed boat for 40 minutes. You have to pay IDR 175,000 per person to buy a speedboat ticket. 

Once you get there, the green scenery and the friendly local people will greet you. But remember, there’s no restaurant facilities. So, prepare your food and drink before going to this place. Also, you can visit the hill for free. Take your time and enjoy the view.
