Nyoman Gunarsa Museum

His works are usually featured Balinese traditions namely traditional ceremonies, various Balinese dances, traditional music, Balinese folk tales, to Hindu Dharma legends. Nyoman Gunarsa Museum was opened for the purpose of exhibiting many collections of Nyoman Gunarsa works. The museum was founded in 1990 and was inaugurated four years later by the Minister of Tourism and Culture at that time, Wardiman Djoyonegoro.

This museum can be visited from Monday to Saturday, starting at 09.00-16.00 (local time). Here, not only Nyoman Gunarsa’s masterpieces are displayed, you can also enjoy various forms of artwork from local to foreigner artists. The museum building consists of three floors. Two floors are used as the main galleries for displaying paintings and some artworks belonging to Nyoman Gunarsa and other artists. This museum has a collection of up to 250 paintings in a range of 15 years. In addition, Balinese statues, puppets, to various types of keris which have historical value about the Kingdom of Klungkung in the 16th century were displayed in this museum.

After getting tired of walking around, you can relax a moment in the green park inside the museum area. You can just sit while stretching your legs or just chatting with some visitors.
