History Behind The Beauty Of Pulaki Temple.

Every place has a story. Especially temples, the place of worship for Hindus. Most temples in Bali have been established for a long time ago. So, the history written in these places becomes an interesting story for visitors. One of the temples that hold history and beauty at the same time is Pura Agung Pulaki Buleleng.

Pura Agung Pulaki Buleleng

Being in this place is like being in the heaven of the world. Just imagine, you can enjoy the view of a rocky steep hill that is adorned with a vast blue sea from this place. That's just sight on one side. On the other side of the temple, you will see a small cape-shaped hill. This temple is also inhabited by monkeys that will gather around when visitors feed them.

Beautiful scenery, of course, it won’t be complete without historical stories. Pulaki Temple keeps the story of Danghyang Nirartha's journey in the past. At that time, his wife experienced severe fatigue when she traveled with her husband. He then allowed his wife to rest and stay in this temple until her health recovered, accompanied by her daughter and son. While Daghyang Nirartha, he continued his journey.

Time had passed, Danghyang Nirartha never returned. His wife then begged the God that she and her citizens be given infinite patience. The God granted her request, with one condition that she and the others couldn’t be seen anymore by humans. At that moment, lightning struck and immediately they disappeared. In this place, the Pulaki Temple was built, as a place to glorify and worship Hyang Widhi Wasa.

This story was then brought until today. If you are interested in listening to the full story while enjoying the beauty of nature, you can immediately come to the temple located in Banyu Poh Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency. If you depart from Singaraja city, you have to travel about 50 km.

Before going there, you have to remember that there are lots of nosy monkeys. So, make sure you don't bring too many valuable items! Even though they’re nosy, they're not bad, so don't worry. And they’re cute tho! In addition, make sure you speak politely and slowly while there, so you won’t disturb other people who are praying.
