Even though it’s beautiful, you still have to be careful. Especially if you want to swim. The seawater conditions can change at any time. Therefore, you need to know these safety tips below!

1. Recognize the Character of the Beach

When you arrive at the beach, you can immediately observe the current breaking or fast flow that leads to the middle of the sea. Now for that, you need to sharpen your sense of sight to be able to read the potential. To recognize it, you can stand on the beach while facing the sea. If you see a calm sea surface flanked by a number of waves breaking on the right and left, then the calm surface is likely to have high burst currents. So, do not swim or play water in the area.

2. Wear Swimsuits with Striking Colors

Swimming in brightly colored swimsuits makes it easy for lifeguards or people around to see you even when you are in the water. Avoid green colored swimsuits because, in the worst conditions, you’ll be difficult to find. The green color will blend with the color of seawater.

3. Don't Panic

In the worst case, if you're swimming and suddenly being dragged by the current, try not to panic. Do not swim towards the beach perpendicular to the current. Because it will drain your breath and energy. Try to float or swim towards the offshore following the current breaking until the fast flow energy is lost or reduced.

4. Swim towards the beach

After it’s quite calm in the offshore area, you can swim towards the beach. Swim with sideways toward the right or left side of the burst current zone.

5. Watch the Vacation Time

Well, you should check the right weather conditions before planning a vacation and swimming at the beach. November to February is the rainy season. At this time, the tidal waves will be bigger than other months. So, it would be best to be more careful this season.
