Savoring The Freshness Of Rujak Buleleng.

There are many traditional foods that you can taste while on this Island of the Gods. Ranging from heavy food to snacks. One snack that you can try while in Bali is Rujak Buleleng. A variety of fresh fruits will definitely make you healthy and feel good. Especially when the weather is hot, Rujak Buleleng is the perfect snack to be enjoyed.

Rujak Buleleng 

If you see a portion of Rujak Buleleng, it’s almost the same as the typical Indonesian rujak in general. The difference can be seen from the way it’s served. Unlike the other rujak, Rujak Buleleng is served by mixing the marinade with the fruits.

Usually, in one portion of Rujak Buleleng, you will find various fruits such as kedondong, red yam, young mango, papaya, bengkoang, pineapple, and cucumber. While the marinade is made from a mixture of Buleleng brown sugar, shrimp paste, salt, and vinegar. If you like spicy food, you can add cayenne pepper. After that, all the ingredients are mashed until the texture is smooth, then mixed with the sliced fruits. 

The shrimp paste and the Buleleng palm sugar make the aroma more fragrant and tempting. Also the red yam will enrich the taste and color. Guaranteed, when you first see it, you’ll be impatient to try it! The sour and fresh taste of fruits will be wrapped with a sweet taste from brown sugar. Plus, the spicy cayenne pepper is ready to shake your tongue. 

If you want to taste this salad, apparently you don't have to go to Buleleng. Even though the name is Rujak Buleleng, you can find this salad everywhere. In Denpasar, there are many food stalls that sell Rujak Buleleng at low prices. You can stop by one of the stalls to try it. Rujak Buleleng has been a favorite snack of Bali among tourists. So, be sure to try it!
