Tangtu Beach: A Good Spot For Photo Hunters.

There are many reasons why people like to visit the beach. Some are happy just to see the sea, some like the distinctive aroma of seawater. There are also those who come to sit and relax on the beach. If your goal is to come to the beach to hunt instagramable photos, then Tangtu Beach is worth visiting.

Tangtu Beach

Tangtu Beach is a black sand beach located on Jln. Pucuk Bang, Banjar Tangtu, Desa Kesiman Kertalangu, Denpasar. This beach is very close to the Kertalangu Tourism Village which is around 2.8 km. If you drive it will take about 10 minutes and 30 minutes if you walk via Jln. Pucuk Bang.

This beach was abandoned due to a large amount of plastic waste from the sea as well as other natural trashes like tree branches. The position of the sloping beach’s edge makes the waste is carried by the seawater and left on the edge. So, over time the local village youth finally took the initiative to clean the beach from rubbish. Then they recycle tree branch waste into several buildings and objects that usually become photo spots, such as houses, giant campfires, and wooden swings which are the most popular objects. To be able to take pictures, you must be willing to queue because many people are also interested in these spots.

Just like other beaches in Bali, you can swim, fish, and sunbathe on Tangtu Beach. But visitors prefer to come in the afternoon to just jogging in the afternoon, take a leisurely walk, take pictures, or sit around looking at the scenery while waiting for dusk. Both young locals and foreign tourists will gather in the afternoon. Chairs and tables made of logs are available there. So, you don't have to worry about getting your clothes dirty when you’re sitting on the beach.

Near the beach, there is a Hindu temple, Pura Campuhan Segara Windu. This temple is often visited by Hindus to pray to be kept away from sickness and danger. At this location, there is also a meeting between the sea and the downstream of the Ayung River. Usually, after carrying out the prayer ritual, the people will go directly to the campuhan or a downstream meeting spot with the sea for the procession of self-purification. If you are interested, you can also watch all the rituals, but don't disturb this sacred process.

The facilities at Tangtu Beach are quite complete and adequate. To support the convenience of visitors, there is a large parking area, snacks, and drinks stalls, also accommodations as well as an art shop that can be visited to buy souvenirs.

Sitting by the beach while eating snacks is fun. But don't forget, if you bring food and drinks wrapped in plastic or paper, do not litter your trashes carelessly. The local residents have tried to make this beach clean and comfortable. So you also have to help them keep the environment clean.
