Witnessing The Megalithic Age Of The Gambir Julah Stone Site.

A walk to the beach or waterfall might be considered more attractive by many tourists. Then what about historical tourism? Sounds interesting, right? But this time, we’re not gonna stroll around in a museum, but in a village that is dedicated to historical tours. Guaranteed, if you visit this village during your times in Bali, your vacation will be more meaningful and enjoyable.

Batu Gambir Julah Site

Attractions in the Gambir Julah Stone Site are one of the historical tourist attractions located in Julah Village, Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency. The location of the Gambir Julah Stone Site itself is above the hills with the nuances of beautiful and exotic natural scenery. In the past, this site was the location of Pura Bale Agung Desa Julah. However, at present, the temple has now been moved to Dusun which is located at the foot of the hill.

Julah village has its own uniqueness. Unlike most villages in Bali, Julah Village has a legacy of historical heritage such as large stones believed to be 2000 BC. One of them is Batu Gambir Site. On this site, you can find several artifacts and ekofak. These historic discoveries were discovered both intentionally carried out by the institution and accidentally by the community. Apart from the Batu Gambir Site, you can also see several other discoveries in the form of pottery fragments such as plates, jugs, grinding tools, and so on.

Not only pottery fragments, other artifacts that are also interesting are Chinese ceramics with various models and years of manufacture. You can see the ekofak in the form of animal bones, animal teeth, and so on. Based on these ekofak inventions, we can actually understand the daily life activities of the ancient Julah people, namely as hunters.

These discoveries can be found in the residents’ yard. There is also an old house that was rebuilt in accordance with ancient architecture. So, visitors will find it easier to see a model of the ancient Julah Village homes. Inside this house, there are also ancient relics.

For lovers of historical tourism but who don't want to go to the museum, you can visit Julah Village to see the Gambir Stone Site and other relics. So besides relaxing holidays, you can still get knowledge. Remember, not all of these things can be held! It is best to ask the local officer if you want to hold an object.
