Goa Lawah, Beautiful Composition Between The Temple And The Beach.

Culture and beauty of the landscape are attractions that can be enjoyed during your vacation in Bali. These two things are summarized in one composition in Goa Lawah, namely the temple and the beach located on a hill Klungkung Regency. It’s precisely located less than 50 kilometers from Denpasar City, in Pesinggahan Village, Dawan District. What’s interesting about Goa Lawah?

Goa Lawah is a cave inhabited by thousands of bats. Bats hang in the shady trees of the temple and stalactite caves, behind the main temple. The location of the temple and the beach of Goa Lawah is very close together. For this reason, Goa Lawah Temple is also known as the center of the nyegara-gunung or Pura Kahyangan Jagat. In this temple, there is Dewa Maheswara and Sang Hyang Basukih. The temple is built by Mpu Kuturan in 929 Saka or 1007 AD.

When entering the Goa Lawah Temple complex, shady trees will cover your steps. In the middle of the yard stood a bale-bale (offering place) and a place of prayer. This temple faces south, limited by large roads leading to Goa Lawah Beach. After enjoying the shady atmosphere of the temple, head for the black sand beach. Usually, after praying, pemadek or people who pray in the temple go to the beach to wash their body.

The temples can be visited by the public while obeying the rules. Rules that must be obeyed include wearing polite clothes, and also women who are on period are prohibited to enter the area. Inside the cave, there is a stalactite which is infested by bats. The beauty of nature here is indeed amazing. Stalactites protrude and infiltrate as if forming abstract sculptures.

After enjoying the natural arts, you can play water or just enjoy the breeze. At Goa Lawah Beach, you will see a stretch of black sand and a calm atmosphere. There’s also a rest area in the form of a gazebo. This is the place where visitors can spend time, or take a lot of pictures. The pounding waves and small stalls selling drinks will further refresh your holiday atmosphere.

Goa Lawah, the composition of temples and beaches, has become a high-value tourist destination. If you go there, please remember to keep the place clean. So that the beauty of nature is not tarnished by the scattering of plastic rubbish. It is wise to throw garbage in its place and reduce the use of plastic packages.
