Take your time because there are a lot of unique personal belongings of the first president that you can look closely.

The Sukarno Center

Located on Jl. Pejeng Kaja-Tampak Siring No.751, Sanding, Tampaksiring, Gianyar Regency. Quite close to Tampaksiring Presidential Palace. The building which is the location of the Museum was established by Dr. Shri I Gst. Ngrh. Arya Wedakarna MWS III (once the youngest rector of Mahendradata University) and Sukmawati Soekarno Putri. It was inaugurated on June 6, 2009, to coincide with Sukarno's birthday. However, the museum was opened to the public on November 10, 2011. The Sukarno Museum was used as a repository for Soekarno's personal objects and photographs which were used during his tenure as President of Indonesia. There are approximately 150 photos available in this two-story building.

Inside the museum, there are Sukarno's belongings in the form of command sticks, medals of honor, and several prizes obtained while serving as President of Indonesia. In addition, there are many photos of the Sukarno family, photographs of Indonesian independence, and several photos and statues of world leaders.

At the entrance of the museum, you will find the golden train that was once used by Bung Karno. Then, in one of the museum rooms, there is a painting of Ratu Pantai Selatan (the Southern Sea Queen), at a certain time this room is accompanied by the strains of Javanese music. In some corners, the fusion of Balinese and Javanese culture feels very thick. The room arrangement was adjusted to Bung Karno's habits and preferences. The collection objects in this museum are very suitable to be used as educational tours for the history and journey of Indonesia.

You can enter the dining room that was once used by world leaders when visiting Tampak Siring. In this room, there are also many national flags that have come to the Sukarno Center. At the end of the second-floor room, there is a large room that was once used as a meeting place with world leaders. In this room, a lot of paintings, ranging from abstract paintings to paintings of Gajah Mada, are on display. Take your time about 1.5 hours to look around.

Sukarno Center is a suitable place for you who want to get to know the figure of the first Indonesian president.
