Meeting The Wild Monkeys Of Ubud Monkey Forest.

Ubud Monkey Forest, or also know as the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal, is one of Bali’s most popular attractions among the tourists. It’s a natural forest sanctuary where a horde of grey long-tailed macaques lives. There are around 700 monkeys in the forest. Not only that, you can also find 186 species of trees, where will definitely give you a lot of fresh air.

This place lies within the village of Padangtegal, not far from Ubud Town Center. The village’s residents see the forest as an important economic, educational, spiritual, and conservation center. Some of you might want to pet or feed them, but you’re advised against it because they’re wild animals. Another one thing to bear in mind if you’re planning to visit the forest. The monkeys may easily snatch your items, such as jewelries, bag, or even glasses. So, be sure to avoid wearing any loose jewelries or apparel.

The local guides and staffs of Ubud Monkey Forest are ready to assist you during your visit. They also even try to retrieve any items stolen by monkeys. The guides are also a great source of information about the cultural and historical stories about the place. If you’re interested, you need to pay IDR 40,000 for adults and IDR 30,000 for kids.
