Pengibul Waterfall The Magnificent Terrace.

Bangli Regency is currently known for its stunning natural wonders. It has recently become one of the many areas in Bali that possess a series of waterfall attractions, one of which is the Pengibul Waterfall. The surrounding community refers to this waterfall as Yeh Empel. Pengibul has a spectacular sight of a multi-level waterfall with a height of about 15 meters. The notion of trekking through the jungle, finding a breathtaking waterfall, and taking a fresh dip, for some, is sheer paradise. You can achieve this by wandering through Pengibul Waterfall!

Located in Apuan Village of Susut Sub-District in Bangli Regency, Pengibul Waterfall is closely situated with Tribumana Waterfall. Getting there is relatively easy because there are already numerous directions that lead you to the attraction itself. If you’re traveling from downtown Denpasar, the distance is about 38 km and with a travel time of roughly 1 hour 25 minutes.

The road to the waterfall destination is in good condition and my ride there went moderately smooth. Upon arrival at the waterfall, visitors will park their vehicles in the provided area. Please do take note, visitors are not charged with parking fees nor admission fee, a.k.a free of charge, or as Indonesians may call it “gratis” (free). You will have to pass through a flight of stairs that are well constructed and structured. You can simultaneously enjoy the astonishing natural scenery as you walk through the area - the lush greens of the forest that are adorned along the way of Pengibul Waterfall.

After all the walk you take, after all the sweat you get, you will eventually be welcomed by the natural beauty of Pengibul’s terraced waterfall and its clear yet pristine water. Chilly, refreshing and truly gratifying.

It’s definitely possible to get on top of the waterfall, but of course, you’d have to climb up the steep and slippery rocks. Depending on the season and weather, the current at the waterfall can be quite rapid as well. But normally, it is recommended to visit this waterfall during the dry season. So either way, it is advisable for you to be extra cautious. While you’re at it, don’t forget to have fun! And FYI, the Pengibul Waterfall opens from 09.00 – 18.00.

Pengibul Waterfall is also used for other purposes, for instance, the neighborhood community would sometimes use this waterfall to hold and perform religious ceremonies, like the Melasti ceremony (a Hindu-Balinese purification rite). Aside from that, you can bathe or simply sit back and relax in the waterfall for some quality outdoor time. That said, Being in nature itself can help regenerate our mind and body, and create an overall calming effect. So go out, explore and make a trip to a waterfall at least once in your life. Or twice. Or thrice. Or even more!

With unconditionally picturesque scenery, this waterfall is absolutely perfect for those who wish to find peace of mind and inner serenity. Nevertheless, the crystal clear water, the cool air and the serene atmosphere of Pengibul Waterfall, without question, will make us feel revitalized like we’re breathing into a new life.
