Agung Rai Museum of Art is a museum founded by Agung Rai on June 9, 1996. Agung Rai's love of art encouraged him to establish this museum. The goal is so that the next generation can continue to enjoy works of art that are hundreds of years old.

At the Agung Rai Museum of Art, you can see various collections of art ranging from traditional to contemporary art. Starting from Kamasan's classic works painted on tree bark, the artworks of Stone Artists from the 1930s and 1940s, to 19th-century paintings painted by Javanese Artists, Raden Saleh, and Syarif Bustaman. Besides local artists, the work of foreign artists also enlivened the museum. You can also find a number of famous painters such as Willem Gerard Hofker, Rudolf Bonnet, Willem Dooijewaard, and Walter Spies. 

For painting lovers, this museum is heaven. You can spend about two to three hours to get around and look at various collections here. Observe the collection one by one, because each artwork has a hidden message that you can dig deeper into its meaning. 

This museum does not only consist of exhibition rooms. In this complex, in addition to four buildings for painting exhibitions, there is also an outdoor stage where art shows, dance venues, offices, bookstores, hotels, several units of villas, cafes, restaurants, spas, swimming pools, and so on. Museum Agung Rai has beautiful and natural concept buildings. Your eyes will be spoiled with charming natural scenery in the form of terraced rice fields and rivers in the back of the museum. Fish ponds and flower gardens in the center of the museum, as well as shady trees surrounding the museum building. 

If you are interested, you can visit the Agung Rai Museum of Art which is located at Jln. Raya Pengosekan Ubud, Ubud District, Gianyar Regency. Although you have to pay for a quite expensive entrance ticket, it is comparable to the satisfaction that you will feel in this museum. The museum is open from 09:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
