Alas Kedaton Temple is often referred to as Dalem Kahyangan Temple because it is often used as a place of religious ceremonies. The Piodalan (every six month) ceremony is oftenly held in this temple. Do visit this temple 20 days after Galungan day and you will see Hindus do worship here. Commonly all religious ceremonies use incense, however this is not happening at Alas Kedaton Temple. All religious ceremonies may not use incense and fire in this area. Therefore, all ceremonies should be carried out before sunset. So that no one will use any fire as a lighting tool in this temple.
In addition, two holy statues can be found in this area. Those are the statue of Durga Mahisasura with eight hands that hold something standing in the oxen and the Statue of Ganesha, who is sitting on lotus with the two dragons.
Something you won’t miss when visit Alas Kedaton is that you will find monkeys in the Alas Kedaton Sacred Forest. Around 2000 tame monkeys is inhabited here. No need to worry about their behavior because they are get used to humans. However, you also still have to maintain the security, ok?
