Pura Batu Bolong is located on a black coral rock, which is still in the same area as Tanah Lot. Batu Bolong Temple is located in Beraban Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency. Visitors can see the uniqueness of a dark coral with a hole in the middle, so it is called Batu Bolong. The term is derived from two words ‘batu’ (stone) and 'bolong’ which means hollow. Initially, the beach that became the location of Pura Batu Bolong was called Saruga Beach. Because there is a Batu Bolong Temple, it is called Batu Bolong Beach.

The hole in the center of the reef is 30 meters long, with 10 meters wide and 5 meters high. Above it, there is a unique temple. Inside the temple, there is a fresh spring that comes out of the rock. This fresh water is called Tirta Pakuluh or holy water which is used for religious ceremonies such as Melasti, Pakelem, Purnama Kapat and Piodalan. The door to Batu Bolong Temple is tightly closed. That means, general tourists must not enter this temple freely. Visitors can only see the temple by circling the wall around the temple. Located in a stunning location makes many tourists come to Pura Batu Bolong, especially in the afternoon. At that time, you can enjoy the magical sunset panorama. Besides enjoying the sunset, you can also ride the waves.

From Tanah Lot, you need to walk west to find a signpost. Pura Batu Bolong is on a coral peninsula jutting out into the middle of the sea. If you depart from Denpasar, you will need a 25 minute drive with a distance of 7 km. While from Ubud, you need to drive about 29 kilometers.
