Visiting Historical Sites In Klungkung, Goa Jepang.

Bali is one of the provinces that fought for Indonesian independence. This is illustrated by several historical sites in Bali, such as in Goa Japan, Klungkung Regency. It’s precisely located in Koripan Hamlet, Banjarangkan Village, Banjarangkan District. Situated on the edge of the highway that connects Klungkung and Gianyar.

Goa Jepang is a high cliff with 16 holes, existed from 1941 to 1942. In that year, Japan began to control all lines of the Indonesian people's lives. Holes as deep as 4 meters with a height of 2 meters are dark spaces. During the colonial period, Goa Jepang became a dark place to end one's life. Fourteen aisles from this place of slaughter are interconnected. While the rest are separate but in the same direction from North to South.

Goa Jepang is very clean and well maintained even though there’s no guard. No plastic trashes splattered around, but it looks dark and moist. You can also feel the mystical atmosphere. Besides all that, the place looks very beautiful. Adorned by the green color of the plants, also by the reddish-brown colored cliffs. Near the cave area, you can see a large elephant statue. While on the back of the elephant statue, there is a deer statue. There is also a small temple for praying.

To enjoy the atmosphere at the historical site of Goa Jepang, no admission ticket is withdrawn. You can park your vehicle on the curb and look around. From Semarapura City, Goa Jepang is less than 5 kilometers to the west. This tourist attraction is also close to other destinations such as Kertha Gosa, Gunarsa Museum and others. Now, when you stop in Goa Jepang, be polite. Don’t say any rude words.

Every tourist spot in Bali has a different character. But, every place can be enjoyed by the visitors. So, happy holidays and have a nice vacation!
