Spiritual Visit To Vihara Dharmayana, Kuta.
Kuta is a sub-district located in Badung Regency. Famous for its vibrant nightlife and stunning sunset views. However, there is one place that you can visit for just a leisurely stroll while looking for tranquility in Kuta, the oldest monasteries in Bali called Vihara Dharmayana.

If you are wandering a place that has a safe and peaceful atmosphere in the Kuta area, go to Vihara Dharmayana. This temple is usually known as Kongco Leeng Gwan Kuta. It is a place of worship for Tridharma people. Located on Blambangan Street, Kuta Sub-district, Badung Regency and close to Kuta Beach and Ngurah Rai International Airport. Beside Tridharma-Chinese people, some native Balinese who embrace Tridharma faith usually come to this vihara. Dharmayana is the only vihara in Bali that the 14th Dalai Lama has been visited in 1982.
When you first set your foot on the pagoda, you can feel a peaceful atmosphere. The vihara building's color is dominated by red and yellow because people believe that those colors bring prosperity. In addition, the spiritual aura is also strongly felt from the fragrance and the smoke of burning incense from the main room or Baktisala. Baktisala is usually used as a place of blessing for couples who get married here. You can see rows of colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling of the pagoda. Typical chinese sculptures such as dragons and lions also enliven the walls and pillars of the vihara. Entering Baktisala, you will find a small temple called Dharmasala and inside it there are God statues. Most people usually come with their family to pray together here. Moreover, near Dharmasala, there is a small shrine under the Banyan tree. There are 4 statues of Buddha faces and a small replica of the Borobudur Temple stood here as the ornaments.
Around the vihara area, you can find several facilities such as parking areas, clean toilets and rest areas. In addition, if you are hungry, there are food stalls and restaurants. Some artshops and hotels are available around the area as well.
