Uluwatu Temple, Cliffs And Sea Of Heaven.

Uluwatu Temple is situated in the area of Pecatu Village, Kuta District, Badung Regency. Although it’s located at the top of a very steep sea cliff, it is relatively easy to reach the temple. The smooth road infrastructure is very adequate to the location, which is about 25 km from Kuta.

This temple was founded around the 9th century on a 97-meter high rock and protruding steeply into the sea. Around it, there is a grove of shrubs called Alas Kekeran. To be able to reach the temple, which is also inhabited by monkeys around the cliffs and the forest, we have to climb dozens of stairs. In the XI century, a Hindu priest, Mpu Kuturan, advocated the establishment of the Uluwatu Temple as a place to teach and organize people in the area. Furthermore, this temple is used by Hindu visionary priests, Dang Hyang Nirartha, as a place of worship. The cliffs and the sea are very charming, especially at dusk, which makes Uluwatu Temple a heavenly witness when a saint reaches the earthly end!.
