6 Days in Jembrana Regency

What if you were given only six days to explore the entire Jembrana Regency? What else can you do? You must physically prepare because Jembrana has everything. It is home from stunning beaches to the breathtaking waterfall, everything is here. Let us give you travel recommendations for every single day. We have considered all aspects so that your vacation can still be optimal.

Day 1

1. Palasari Dam

Begin your first day in Jembrana by visiting Palasari Dam. The cool air around the Dam seems to be a good start to enjoy your holiday. Not to mention the addition of a beautiful view of the protected forest north of the Dam. You can spend about two hours here by jogging or just enjoying the fresh air. It is recommended to come to this place around 6:00 a.m. to feel the healthy morning air. After jogging, you can taste some foods in food stall around the Dam. Don't forget to bring your camera and look for many interesting moments and angles.


2. Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart of Palasari

After tired of walking around Palasari Dam, it is the time to explore the Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart of Palasari. The location is close to the dam, about 7-10 minutes drive. Here, you will find distinctive church architecture as the mixture of Balinese and Western Europe style. Don't waste your camera's battery because only 30 minutes here you can get lots of interesting photo! But please remember to maintain modesty and not interfere the worshipers. Here, you can take a little time to rest before going on to the next trip since beautiful beaches near this site are waiting for you.


3. Candikusuma Beach

Close your first day by visiting Candikusuma Beach. Definitely, you can't wait to touch the sea of Bali! While waiting for the sun's rays are less intense, you can have your lunch at a stall around the beach. Try some sea menus and young coconut water there. After lunch and a short break, you can visit the dock around some people who are fishing. Just looking around or chatting with the fishermen is also a fun thing to do. If it's not too hot, you can swim on the beach or snorkel. Spending a few hours on this beach until sunset becomes the right choice before you go back to the inn and prepare for your next destination tomorrow.

Day 2

1. Karang Sewu Beach

Having a vacation does not mean waking up late. Catching sunrise on Karang Sewu Beach can not be missed. The best spot to witness the sunrise is on a wooden bridge that is facing the sea. You can come around 5:00 a.m. to find your comfortable position because the sun in Bali rises around 5:50 a.m. Once satisfied to enjoy the sun getting up, you can have breakfast at food stalls around the beach. While charging your body to go to the next place, you can maximize your time until 8:00 a.m. here.


2. Green Cliff

From Karang Sewu Beach, you can drive about one and half hours to Green Cliff which is no less interesting. Use comfortable clothes and footwear because you will climb dozens of stairs to the top of the cliff. Arriving at the top, all you see is paradise. A landscape of green valleys with hilly backdrops. The estimation to explore this place are around two hours. If you are not used to going up or down stairs please bring enough drinking water and less weight luggage.


3. Bunut Bolong

Get off from Green Cliff, you can continue the trip to Bunut Bolong. This is a Jembrana landmark that you must visit. It doesn't take long time to get here. You can stop by to see a hole that forms like a tunnel and is made of tree roots of banyan tree. You can take a picture of you while passing this landmark. Bunut Bolong is a sacred place so you should be polite. After capturing this moment, you can continue your journey to Medewi Beach.


4. Medewi Beach 

If you still can't find the right place to have your lunch, go to a food stall on the edge of Medewi Beach. The weather is still hot if you jump right in to the beach, so after eating you can find a place to relax while seeing some people surfing. Waves on Madewi Beach are well known quite big, so it's not recommended for you to swim here. Seeing sunset on Medewi Beach is our recommendation because the composition of the dramatic beautiful sunset, surfers and fishing boats over the horizon will create stunning scenery.

Day 3

1. Perancak Turtle Conservation

On your third day, please do visit Perancak Turtle Conservation. Here, you can watch or even participate in releasing of the hatchlings directly back to the beach. If you dare to try, here is a tip for you, don't grip the hatchling too tightly. Free them from the shoreline and wait until the hatchling swim away. The estimated time of the hatchlings release can take two hours or more. Depending on how interested you are in the conservation.


2. Betutu Chicken

After releasing the tukik (hatclings), of course you will feel hungry, it's the right time to enjoy Jembrana's popular Betutu Chicken. Chicken with spices baked in the wooden fire is guaranteed will increase your appetite. You can easily meet Betutu chicken stalls in some areas of Jembrana.


3. Gede Perancak Temple

After eating Ayam Betutu, it's time to find peace in Gede Perancak Temple. This temple is one of the sacred temples for Balinese Hindus. It is because Dang Hyang Nirartha, Saivis Religious figure first came to this area in Bali. You should wear polite clothes when you visit this temple. Please pay attention to your speech and voice volume because many people come to do meditation. Thus, you can close your third day with peace and relax.

Day 4

1. Yeh Leh Beach

Still looking for the magical sunrise on the beach? Come to Yeh Leh Beach. You may choose how to see the sunrise here. Sit back and enjoy the fresh morning air and the sun peaks or strolling around and feel the black sand of Yeh Leh Beach on your feet. In the western part of the beach there are many rocks that can be a place for you to sit and chill while enjoying the sunrise. How about your breakfast? If you don't bring your meal, you can buy some snack at the beachside food stall and also some supplies to bring to the next tourist spot.


2. Juwuk Manis Waterfall

Let us continue to the next destination, Juwuk Manis Waterfall. You will be trekking to reach this waterfall. So use proper and not slippery footwear. Well, you can bring supplies that have been bought on the beach if you are tired and thirsty during the trip. Travel time to the waterfall is about one hour by foot. So spare your time around 2.5 to 3 hours in this place. Satisfy yourself by playing in the water and taking a bath in the fresh Juwuk Manis waterfall.

Day 5

1. Archaeological Site Museum

It's time to improve your knowledge at the Archaeological Site Museum on Melaya Street, Gilimanuk. You can see many ancient relics such as fossils, sarcophagus, pots, and other ancient objects. It doesn't have to take a long time here, you can get new experience for 30 minutes to one hour strolling around the museum.


2. Tirta Lestari Air Gumbrih Water Park

Still want to play water but not get too wet? Go to Tirta Lestari Air Gumbrih Water Park. You can explore 2 km river by using Jukung or traditional boats. Here, there are many rare wild animals such as Kokoan Bird and various other species. In addition, you can also try fishing Red Snapper and Julit Fish. Interestingly, you can directly grill your fish right here. Have fun in Tirta Lestari Water Park for the next three to four hours until your body feel enough.


3. Pamper yourself and your body at the Spa

After a few days of exhausted activities, it's time to pamper yourself with a spa. Many interesting and unique spa places in Jembrana. You can choose a variety of packages that suit your needs. There is a spa package that does treatment on the beach and also a spa that offers a place and atmosphere that is directly in contact with nature. Day 6

1. Dlod Berawah Beach

A unique beach to close your holiday is in the Mendoyo area, Dlod Berawah. You can chill and just play in the water here. There is also a mini waterboom if you are lazy to play water on the beach. The water in it comes from Dlod Berawah beach. And it is the only one in Bali. After tired of swimming or playing water, you can buy some foods at restaurants in which available around the mini waterboom. Since it is the last day in Jembrana, you can adjust the time with your flight schedule.


2. Siwa Mahadewa Park

After being satisfied playing water, you can visit Shiva Mahadewa Park near the bay of Gilimanuk. The journey is quite far, about 1 hour driving from Dlod Berawah Beach. Here, you can explore Kalong Island, Gadung Island, and Burung Island by canoeing, Water Bicycle, or Sampan that you can rent from local people. It takes about 2 hours to get around the island and see a statue of Shiva Mahadewa which is about 10 meters high. Taking photos with this statue as a background and people will think you are on vacation in India.


The destination route to Jembrana is really diverse right? You will not be bored spending six days here. Just adjust your stay to the area that will be visited a lot. In addition, don't forget to bring sunblock, wet and dry tissue, and stock enough drinking water so that you won't be dehydrated.
